The Supply Chain Manager will lead the Logistics and Supplies team to meet the efficiency, safety and service levels requirements to support the company’s continued growth. S/he is responsible for coordinating and managing all activities including the receiving, warehousing, inventory control, domestic freight and delivery of items in a manner consistent with company’s retail service and cost objectives.
Main Job Duties
In collaboration with the Head of Retail, formulate, recommend, and implement shipping procedures for accurate and timely shipments to support order processing.
Formulate, recommend, and implement warehouse control procedures for the control and documentation of inventory transactions.
Identify and implement operational excellence initiatives within the distribution stream.
Proactively identify risks in distribution; recommend mitigation plans to management and implement approved solutions.
Track the movement of goods to branches.
Plan, coordinate, and reconcile annual physical inventory to assure accurate inventory records. Analyse inventory discrepancies for cause, and prepare management report indicating results and proposed corrections.
Manage complex projects to meet all Supply Chain requirements and other strategic or continuous improvement goals.
Participate in employee recruitments and trainings, and monitor employee performance to ensure targets are met.
Work closely with sales representatives, branch heads to improve supply processes.
Develop supply network strategies and processes for all products.
Create a dashboard of KPIs to track metrics to measure performance and improve efficiency across the supply network. Chiefly, EXPIRIES, STOCK OUTS, STOCK IMBALANCES and SUPPLIES/DELIVERIES
A good First Degree in Supply Chain or a related qualification with experience. A Second Degree and experience in Pharmaceuticals or FMCG will be an added advantage.
